As we began to gather information in our review of the enrollment process, another thing that became clear was that more than anything, a brand new distributor wants product. Whether they joined the company due to an interest in essential oils, NingXia Red, or any combination of Young Living's unique product offering, their goal is to get started with a complete product experience. Natural supplements for horses

I'm going to step away from Young Living for this post to highlight a line of supplements for horses that I personally use and have seen great results with.

Bug Check is a very popular product and I can see why after feeding it to my mare last summer. Not only did it keep the bugs away, it also kept her "normal" summer skin problems at bay and kept her allergies in check. Feeding a plain garlic supplement did not work nearly as well as Bug Check. I won't let my mare go through another bug season without it.


Health Check is a great source of antioxidants. Lab testing shows that one scoop of Health Check provides as many antioxidants as 11 buckets of apples and carrots. These along with natural sterols, phospholipids and other important nutrients are typically filtered out by processing (rice bran, flax, corn oil or wheat germ oil). H2Oil keeps all the "goodies" in and provides essential 3, 6 and 9 Omega Fatty Acids. The addition of these fats to a horse's diet can help slow the absorption of feed and help level out spikes in blood sugar - very important if you have a horse prone to laminitis. Natural Ointment for Cuts, Scrapes and More

Animal Scents™ Ointment is a protective and soothing salve formulated for external use on animals, and you can use it on yourself as well. My interest in alternative health methods

I have become more and more interested in natural health care over the past few years. The interest first began through my career as a barn manager caring for horses. I have seen first-hand how herbs, homeopathics, essential oils, acupuncture, chiropractic and other "alternative" modalities can help horses with acute and chronic problems.

Being a scientifically minded person, I began to read and research the ingredients and methods being used on the horses I cared for. The more I read, the more interested I became - especially when I read scientific studies which backed up the results I was seeing.

Things really hit home when my own horse became laminitic - a very painful condition of inflammation within the hooves that can result in many long-term problems and, in severe cases, death. Using acupuncture, essential oils, homeopatics, herbs and proper nutrition she was off NSAID drugs within two weeks. Within a few months I was able to start lightly exercising her again. Now she is back into her training schedule, albeit slightly modified, and I continue to maintain her health with essential oils, herbs and nutrition. Her recovery has amazed all who know her.

I plan to provide information in this blog in the hope that it will help others as it has helped myself, my family and my horses.
